Flag Island Resort is proud to announce the hiring of two new General Managers, Keith and Brittany Dahl. They have recently joined the team at this popular and well-established resort in the Northwest Angle of Lake of the Woods.

As a fishing and hunting guide for over 25 years, Keith has a clear passion for the outdoors. He also has worked in retail sporting goods in Minnesota for over 30 years. With his background, Keith knows firsthand the importance of a quality outdoor experience, making him a great fit at Flag Island. His understanding of the outdoors combined with his passion for helping anglers will be a huge benefit to visitors.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the staff, learning from them, and working together as a team to share the incredible experience that Flag Island offers,” explains Keith. “My goal is to make sure anglers see what a unique place the Northwest Angle is and always want to come back. It’s a combination of a Northwoods Minnesota and Canadian fishing experience…the best of both worlds.”

Keith is joined by his wife, Brittany. With a background in real estate, Brittany is also a “people person” and shares a passion for the outdoors. “I’m excited to be joining a well-respected resort and team at Flag Island,” she notes. “The Northwest Angle is such an amazing place and offers a unique fishing experience. One of our goals is to make sure we continue to give our guests world-class resort accommodations that match our incredible fishing.”

The Northwest Angle gives US anglers the chance to enjoy a Canadian fishing experience due to the structure and islands that are different from most of the U.S. side of Lake of the Woods. Flag Island guides take anglers into Canada for day trips so they can fish in Canadian waters without having to go through customs.

Flag Island offers both open water fishing for walleye, muskie, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and panfish as well as ice fishing from heated day houses in the winter. In business since 1936, Flag Island Resort has been providing anglers with a quality fishing experience, which includes great lodging, meals, and bar services.

Flag Island Resort is planning to open for open-water fishing on May 18th, if lake conditions permit.
