The best fishing of the year has been
happening by Massacre and Bear Island area
the last three days! Our guides are catching
anywhere from 20-30 walleye a day in the
20"-25" range along with the occasional 27"
and bigger. The muskies are the most active
they've been all year too with tons of
follows and strikes!

The fishing has been heating up all over the
lake. Walleyes are being caught on all
sorts of reefs. Plenty of 25”+ walleye have
been caught this past week along with a
couple 30 inchers. The steady weather has
been the main cause for such an outburst of
fish. There have also been a lot of muskie
sightings from some of the muskie fisherman
in camp!

The fishing has been steady all around the
lake. The best spots recently have been up
in the Skeet Island Area anywhere from 13’
to 30’. Dragging spinners on the Minnesota
side has also been producing some quality
fish. So far we’ve had four 30” walleyes
caught by different guests this year!

The warm weather and lower water levels are
getting the fish very active. The big fish
of the opener was a 44” muskie caught while
jigging for walleye! The walleyes are still
spread out on points and shorelines from 13’
to 23’ but the steady weather will start to
group them up as they move out to the
reefs. There should be great fishing come
Memorial Weekend!
