January 8, 2008
Fishing season is off to a great start!
There is over a foot of good ice and almost a foot of new snow. The Walleye bite on the  area reefs is producing excellent sized eating fish in the 16" to 19" class range with anlgers filling out on their limits. Also many beautiful larger class fish in the 26" to 28" range have been caught in the last few days. The Northwest Angle and Islands area of Lake of the Woods is an excellent series of reefs to fish with water depths of 17 to 30 feet deep. The bottom structure is rocky in nature and produces a bounty of fish for a tasty fish fry. The Can-Am Snowtrail is also staked, marked, groomed, and ready to ride. NO PASSPORTS ARE NEEDED UNTIL JUNE OF 2009!!!

July 30, 2007
The walleye bite has been excellent with fish moving up on the reefs. Most of the action has been between 15-20 fow. Some fisherman have also found some jumbo perch on the same reefs. Muskie action has been consistent with most fishing coming off rock point and shallow reefs.

July 13, 2007
The muskie action has been heating up with the stable weather in the last couple of weeks. Walleyes have been found on
reefs and point with the standard jig and minnow producing well. Several other groups have also been doing well with bottom bouncers over island points.
